Uncommonly large for a folding knife, the Glenhaven Collapseable Saber was originally designed for close quarters defense against a lightly armored assailant. It is named for the shaded valley between the hills where I grew up. I know that this "mugshot" style of photography is really pretty sterile but I wanted to include this one for the series. I hope to post some better pictures of this knife soon ^_^

The 3rd Knife in my apprenticeship to Knifemaker, Larry Detloff of Santa Cruz, California.

Blade length: 5.25"
Overall length (open): 11.5"

Steel folded by Ferguson.

Blade & Bolster: Non-stainless Damascus
Scale: Ironwood
Liners: Titanium

Haha, glad you like how it came out,
but it sold already. I'll post new knives as I finish them though.

Thanks! May I ask what about it works for you? I'm currently designing some new stuff and I'm very interested to know what kinds of qualities people find appealing.

Absolutely beautiful! If you don't mind me asking, how did you create the dappled and rippled effect on the metal?

Thank you. The pattern on the blade is a result of how the Blacksmith folded the steel. The Smith who folded this Damascus is named Jim Ferguson. After I shape the blade from the billet of steel, it is dipped in acid to accentuate the contrast of the materials.
