I was nerding out on some Tolkien & Final Fantasy Tactics when I drew this Sleeping Ranger.

Hailing from the Stone Wolf Clan, this young lady's proficiency with the Bow has already earned her the rank of Swan Archer among her people. Relying on her speed and agility, she remains almost entirely without armor, only using a pair of Heavy Scout's Boots. Her Shoulder Shield offers little protection but she wears it to honor her Tribe since it in no way hinders movement in her Sword Arm. Here she's seen having taken up a position high atop a knoll to survey the outlying lands. She can't help indulging in a little nap on such a beautiful, warm, Spring afternoon as she is weary from traveling in the night.

I like the graphic clean style and the almost "Grimm's fairy tale" line quality especially emphasized in the tree. I can see what you’re talking about when you mention FF tactics. It has a lot of that same awesome pale water-coloring style and line play you see in there too.

Thanks a lot for your reflection on the piece! I'm really glad that the style works for you. I wanted to add color digitally but without making it feel unlike the pencil drawing it is, you know? I was feeling the warm, earth-tones that I hoped could help it feel sort of antique :)
