I was in a terrible accident last year. My wife and I were riding bikes when a car came at us and took me out. She dodged it thank goodness. I took a bunch of damage to my right leg and lost lots of blood. Lots of surgery followed. The last 13 months have been consumed by physical therapy so now I can stand again, bend my leg and even walk. My wife and I used to run marathons and stuff, now I can barely run a mile but even that's like a miracle. Still have a long way to go but it's amazing what you can come back from.
I got my hands on some sweet Mike Norris Damascus and made this thing during the earlier stages of my recovery. I'm calling it The Phoenix.

I now want this style of knife, but this one looks too expensive...

Glad you like it, yes, their prices do come in a little on the high side.

Just a little high. Do you happen to know what that design type is? I just want something for Googling...

Try searching "Damascus Folding knives".
That oughtta bring you into an array of paths that could lead you to a sweet folding knife made from decent materials that suits your price needs. Good luck to you out there!

Dang. The closest that I found to this style is "Haddock Folding Knife".
It almost seems like you are one of the few to do that style of knife...

Benchmade makes one called the "Rift" with sorta similar blade geometry (sometimes called a "reverse tanto" style). It's a beautiful knife, I'd happily wear a Rift as my daily carry.
but,
I never saw anything slim like the Phoenix.
I wanted its lines to be slender and elegant, probably not as practical as the Rift or that Haddock, but I thought it would be beautiful if I could pull it off. Fitting the lock-mechanic into a space this small was a BITCH. ^_^

this by far is the best blade you've made so far in your gallery.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I put a lot into it. I've never seen a knife like this but I felt like one should exist!
