Used a Cratex Wheel (which is like a rubberized grit that grinds finely & polishes metal) to clean up the blade and refine all the facets, all the different grind angles. This blade has 3 facets on each side, the main edge which is hollow ground (concave), the false edge up on top which is flat ground, and the small facet at the tip which is also flat.
The challenge is keeping all the facets smooth and controlling the breaks between them so the lines are crisp and resolved.
Some folks clamp their blade to a jig that keeps the angle consistent, which is handy in ways and definitely makes it easier to mass produce a knife type. But my teacher's method was to do all this freehand, so that's the way for me.
Slowly but surely, it's coming along.
My poor wife absolutely hates the look of this one, ha ha.
Ah well, can't please everyone all the time.
